A Survey of the Christian Bible
15-week Class with Rev. Diana
Join Rev. Diana in exploring the culture, history, metaphor, and symbolism behind one of the most influential collections of stories in the Western world. The class begins on Wednesday, September 4th, 2 – 5 pm, and runs for 15 weeks, ending on December 18th with a week off for Thanksgiving. The class will use Marcus Borg’s Reading the Bible Again for the First Time: Taking the Bible Seriously, But Not Literally; Jeffrey Kranz’s The Beginner’s Guide to the Bible: A Non-Preachy, Jargon-Free Handbook to What the Bible Is, Where It Came From, and What It’s All About ( provided and included in the cost of the class); and Holy Resilience: The Bible’s Traumatic Origins by David M. Carr. We will also use video from The Bible Project to help make the story arc more visible.
