And That’s the Truth!

Meditation and prayer once again leads me to you. I know the Truth of who you are…God’s Love, Beauty, and Perfection in form, as a blessing to the earth and all of its inhabitants.

This morning’s Practice of Spiritual Study brought this question, voiced by Joel S. Goldsmith: “What Truth do you know and how steadfast are you in its application?” Joel never minces words…always gets right to the point! And what a great question – what Truth do I know? Whenever I contemplate Truth, I am looking at Absolute Truth… that which is eternal, unchanging, for all beings through all of what we call time. Otherwise, I am spending time and energy sinking my belief into things and conditions that may or may not exist tomorrow, which to me seems like a waste of this precious life. So, back to the question…

During my 28 years of Spiritual Study, I have spent a lot of time with the Principles and Practices of the Science of Mind and Spirit. I find them to be inclusive of all religious, philosophical, and ethical traditions. Here is my interpretation of the 10 Principles outlined by Ernest Holmes in 1927. I have taken the liberty of adopting them as my own.

There is one absolute and self-existent Intelligence, forever expressing Itself in and through all creation. Even as It continues to show up as All-That-Is, Its Power, Creativity, Intelligence, and Sentient Energy can never be used up or destroyed. The manifest universe is the body of God, and is the only way that God can know Itself.

Because God (Life, Intelligence) individualizes as all of creation, every human being is a perfect and intentional expression of God, with all of Its Infinite Potential built in as factory equipment.

Because I witness and acknowledge the complete individuality of every human from the moment of birth (physically, temperamentally, energetically), I trust that every soul is immortal, eternal, has been here before, and is continuing its journey in this lifetime and in all lifetimes to come, in order to know, and more completely express its Divinity.

I can experience either heaven or hell as a state of mind and set of conditions. I can choose heaven in any moment that I become conscious of life as All Good, as blessing.

Every human is born completely free, but may become convinced otherwise. Our life’s journey is about finding and expressing that freedom. Ultimately, every soul will attain its freedom.

We are all connected. There is a unity of all life, and the unifying Presence that connects all of creation is God, Infinite Intelligence, Divine Light. Because we are all completely unique, each of us experiences this Unity, this Presence, differently; each has a personal relationship with It.

Intuition, spiritual attunement, and communion with this unifying Presence may bring a direct revelation of truth to anyone who seeks it.

There is a loving Infinite Intelligence (Universal Spirit) that expresses Itself through Spiritual Law (Universal Mind). I Am surrounded by and infused with this Intelligence and so it cannot help but receive and act upon my thoughts, intentions, and feelings.

All forms of healing are possible. As I align myself with God’s Highest Idea of Wholeness, Truth is revealed.

Life is Good, forever and always…eternally and lovingly  giving of Itself.

My soul’s destiny is to discover and express its Divinity; how I go about making this discovery is up to me. It’s all God, it’s all Good. Really.

As I re-read what I have written, I ask myself: “Do you really believe this?” The answer is a clear, deep, silent, and unqualified Yes. These statements ring absolutely True for me. Rev. Dr. Michael Beckwith calls this, “…sufficiently tasting of the soul-nectar.” He says that once this deep knowing has occurred, “the Spirit found in the inner stillness reveals itself in the activities of your outer life. This is how the mystics live. Whether they are engaged in inward or outward activity, they remain ever aware, ever awake at the feet of Omnipresence.” And so, this is my Work. This is our Work…remaining ever aware, ever awake at the feet of Omnipresence.

There are many practices that we may choose from to help guide us back to the Truth of who we are. This year, I have chosen to explore and celebrate a Metaphysical Lenten Season. In reviewing yesterday’s reading from Keep a True Lent by Charles Fillmore, I am reminded that, just as today, the people who lived during Yeshua’s lifetime, were caught up in the material world, distracted by things that were not ultimately important. Fillmore says, “The whole race was caught in the meshes of its own thought and, through drowsy ignorance, would have remained there had not a break been made in the structure, and the light of a higher way let in.” He is referring to the teachings of Jesus as that light. And what did Jesus teach? Basically two things: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” Love God, love everybody…seems pretty simple, not always easy.

Even as Jesus came forth as a great teacher, and one worth emulating, teachers come in all forms. It has been said that everything and everyone is a teacher. And so, maybe we had become a race caught in the meshes of its own thought and, through drowsy ignorance, would have remained there had not a break been made in the structure, and the light of a higher way let in. Maybe…just maybe…our latest Teacher, our blessed Light, has come in the form of a virus. Perhaps it is here to put a break in our structure, to let in the light of a higher way. And what light is it shining, what lesson is it bringing for our growth and expansion? Let go of distractions; bring your focus back to essentials; do what brings you joy; love God; love everybody. Some things never change. And so it is, has ever been, and ever shall be.

May we all be well…stay in touch…know our Unity…and thrive!

And may we know the Absolute Beauty and Wonder of this Grace-filled, once-in-a lifetime day…

Rev. Diana
