Common Threads

A Survey of the World’s Religions

Please join the Rev. Diana for this 15-week journey through the World’s Religious Traditions. Using the book Understanding World Religions: An Interdisciplinary Approach by Irving Hexham, and its accompanying video lecture series as our guides, we will delve into an exploration of African religions, which have frequently been absent from major religion texts. We will then move into a study of the varieties of Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. We will look for the Common Threads that unite these spiritual traditions, as well as their unique beliefs and practices.

Class will not meet on Wednesday, April 24th

Enrollment for this class has closed

Don’t be scared off by the length of the text… it will be broken down into a bite-sized format that lends itself to no more than five pages of reading each day over the course of the 15 weeks.

And it is available in print and on Kindle!

 Wednesdays, February 28th – June 12th, 2:00 – 5:00 pm excluding May 15th

Suggested Donation: $140 for the series, or $10 per session
